Exploring the regulation of the COP9signalosome/NEDD8 axis by oxidative stress

Increased oxygen-derived reactive species (ROS) levels induce progressive damage to macromolecules, cells, and tissues, eventually leading to diseases such as cancer, inflammation, neurodegeneration, and cardiovascular disorders. Most aerobic organisms sense increased ROS concentrations and respond to protect cellular redox homeostasis through a defense mechanism, including transcriptional modulation and activation of ROS scavengers.

Our lab interest is to determine the effect of elevated ROS levels on cullin NEDDylation and deNEDDylation enzymes and to investigate the ROS defense mechanism underlying the accumulated free NEDD8.

La Fondazione ha una convenzione sia con la Sapienza Università di Roma che con l'Università di Tor Vergata.

Il neolaureato dovrà effettuare un periodo di prova di almeno 2 mesi con possibilità di partecipare a un Dottorato di Ricerca.

Role and function of the Fra-1/AP-1 oncogenic transcription factor in metastatic breast cancer

Project: The Fra-1 protein is a component of the ubiquitous family of AP- 1/(Fos-Jun) transcriptional complexes, which exerts major roles in physiology and pathology. It is abnormally overexpressed in hyperphosphorylated forms in the so-called Triple Negative Breast Cancers (TNBCs), where it plays a key role in aggressiveness and metastasis.
