Il Prof. Michele Morgante e il Dott. Emanuele De Paoli - Istituto di Genomica Applicata e Dipartimento di Scienze Agroalimentari, Ambientali e Animali - Università degli Studi di Udine, segnalano la disponibilità di 15 Borse di Dottorato Internazionali nell'ambito del Progetto Europeo Epidiverse (Epigenetic Diversity In Ecology).

EpiDiverse - Epigenetic Diversity in Ecology - is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network aimed at the study of epigenetic variation in wild plant species. This network joins academic groups from ecology, molecular (epi)genetics and bioinformatics with life science companies to explore epigenetic mechanisms and their adaptive relevance in natural plant populations.

TIGEM: position for a PhD Student

Unraveling the molecular bases of inherited retinal disorders

Inherited retinal dystrophies (IRDs) represent one of the most frequent causes of genetic blindness in the western world and an important burden for national health systems. The most frequent and severe forms are Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP), Leber Congenital Amaurosis (LCA), macular dystrophies (MD) and cone and cone-rod dystrophies (CD and CRD, respectively). All of these conditions display a very high genetic heterogeneity with over 150 responsible genes identified to date.

A junior research position (one year, renewable) supported by Fondazione Pisa is available at the CNR Institute of Genetic and Biomedical Research, Pisa, Italy.
The project will be carried out in the laboratory of Dr. Antonio Musio and is focused on the role of cohesin complex in human diseases. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic and committed young researcher with experience in cell and molecular biology and genome-wide data analysis.
Informal enquiries and applications can be sent to Dr. Antonio Musio ( Questo indirizzo email è protetto dagli spambots. E' necessario abilitare JavaScript per vederlo. ) explaining why you are interested in joining the lab, describing briefly career goals and including CV and contact information for 2-3 references.

Dear Colleague
The Vienna Biocenter PhD programme summer call in now open and we are offering approx. 20 fully financed postions. We invite applications from motivated and knoweledgeable applicants from all over the world. Applicants should hold a Master's degree or equivalent from a university in the field of Natural Sciences. It is also possible to apply when the master's degree is received within six months of the application deadline.

The Vienna Biocenter is a highly multidisciplinary environment, with research areas ranging from molecules to populations: RNA biology, gene regulation and epigenetics; Biochemistry, structural and cell biology; Stem cells and developmental biology; Molecular medicine; Neuroscience; Plant biology; Bioengineering and computational biology; and Evolutionary and population biology. Most importantly the scientific atmosphere is extremely dynamic and collaborative, students have numerous opportunities to meet, talk, listen and collaborate with fellow scientists.
