Postdoctoral Position – Autoimmunity

One position for a Post-Doct is available at the University of Milano-Bicocca, to carry out research on Innate Immunity Regulation in Autoimmunity. Candidates must have completed their master's degree no more than four years before the date of application.
Autoimmune diseases (AID) such as Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Type I Diabetes and Inflammatory Bowel Diseases are debilitating diseases affecting millions of people worldwide. Accurate and timely diagnosis is needed for effective treatment of the disease but is very difficult since many other inflammatory-based diseases and healthy conditions share symptoms with Autoimmunity.
The goal of the research in this area is to develop a blood-based diagnostic for AID. We have used expression profiling to identify a diagnostic signature that retrospectively identifies different MS phenotypes.

Open Postdoctoral Position in Innate Immunity Regulation by MSC at the Department of Surgery and Translational Medicine, University of Milano-Bicocca.
Candidates must have completed their master's degree no more than four years before the date of application.

Project: Our research is dedicated to delineate mechanisms regulating MSCs mediated innate immunity regulation and to understand the environmental signals required to optimally induce MSCs activity. The project aims at dissecting the therapeutic potential of novel, cell-based therapies that use MSCs under different conditioning medium. We will use biochemical, genetic, cellular, and systems-based approaches to address these points experimentally.
